Unfortunately, their lease contract is not renewed, and they will close at the end of December while they are looking for a new location. the fish is always fresh and tasty, and the atmosphere is welcoming. we will miss location today, but will return when they do. they will also be open on Saturdays and Sundays in December, so they will go while they can still.
Don’t go to any other sushi place in the area. Fresh fish, very fast, small authentic feeling atmosphere, and GREAT prices. Rolls and sashimi were amazing, and super generous for the small price. As if it couldn’t get any better, we were walking out during closing and they gave us like 40 pieces of free sushi for the road. Unbelievable, I’m still in shock how great this place is.
Small local joint that's fun to go to. It's a revolving belt sushi that has a train on it. The rice is just normal rice without any seasoning or flavor. It's interesting to watch the sushi chef make the rolls as he has molds for the rice and preslices all the fish for faster assembly. My advice is to order from the menu so you get fresh made to order items. Sometimes you don't know how long something has been on the belt.
Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere: 2/5 Would reccommend: Not really I know this place was voted the best turntable sushi in Portland, but honestly it was totally mediocre. It was interesting to be able to the the chef make the rolls, but they were pretty much sushi that you could experience anywhere. There wasnt anything special about it the rolls were quickly formed without much attention. It was fast production, the sushi was really just OK. It wasnt just that it didnt live up to the hype I honestly just didnt think much of the place.
The sushi quality is pretty exceptional for the price. The only reason I cannot rate it more highly is the customer service. While the chef is quick and careful with his rolls, he is exceptionally inattentive to new customers. Many of the reviews for the restaurant recommend ordering from the menu, but that isn't typically an option since the chef keeps his head down unless he is talking to one of his regulars. While this is some of the better sushi in Portland, I wouldn't recommend going out of your way just to be ignored.
