If you're considering just one or two appetizers, I highly recommend the coconut shrimp and crab rangoon. The crispy trout was just average for me; it was fried a bit too hard. While it’s not my personal favorite, I can see why others might enjoy it. The pineapple-braised pork with garlic rice was packed with flavor, but I felt it needed a citrus sauce or side to balance the richness. The curry was absolutely wonderful and definitely our favorite dish of the night; its spiciness was just right. On the other hand, the seafood pad thai was probably my least favorite. It was a bit too saucy and salty, although it did have a good amount of seafood, which was a nice touch.
Really great fried catfish and Thai classics. A fun upstairs seating area, and fun menu options makes this place standout from other Thai offerings in the area.
My Wife and I were on a trip to Portland recently and were looking for a good local Thai place to try out. Both the Hotel we stayed at 'The Paramount ' and yelp highly recommended Thai Peacock. From the outside the place is very unassuming, you think its smaller then it is. They have a nice seating area upstairs as well as separate area downstairs. There is also a community table area should you wish to dine with others. As we walked in we were greeted by an extremely friendly waitress and were told to put our name into the iPad up front. This was a very easy way of knowing when your table is ready as it sends you a link you can verify. The food had was among the best Thai food I have eaten. This seems like a real local joint a mix of younger couples and individuals that know good authentic Thai food. Food we ordered Gyoza: Very big chicken flavor delicious, dipping sauce maybe a little too sour. Chicken Curry Yellow: I asked for Medium spice and I absolutely got it, this is a spicy delicious curry not too coconutty chicken was cooked to perfection. I would be careful ordering any Spicer I 'm guessing HOT is unbearably hot. Chicken Pad see Ew: Chicken again perfectly cooked, sauce was delicious Drinks: Mango Thai Margarita was very unique and bursting with flavor Thai Peacock IPA was also a great drink to get Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. They do get busy so make sure to put your name in and come back once your table is ready.
Wow! I'm really impressed by the flavors, the quick service, and the quality of the food. One of the waitstaff came across as a bit rude and rushed one of my guests who was inquiring about vegan options for the fried rice, but I understand that they have a lot of customers to handle. I would appreciate a bit more patience from the staff. The green curry and basil fried rice were fantastic in terms of flavor and portion size for the price. The spring rolls were very delicious, and I loved the cute condiment box they provided with spices and sauces. The Thai iced tea was also very flavorful! There's public parking available next to the restaurant as well.
Delicious and fresh, just like Thai food should be! This is one of the best Thai dining experiences I've had. The menu features a great variety, ranging from vegetarian dishes to trout and delicious shrimp. The wontons and vegetable egg rolls are exceptional. The tofu is firm and packed with flavor, and the spices are well-balanced. I will definitely be coming back!
