Sam's Crab House - Richmond

Exceptional experience at the management level. The prices are great, paired with delicious food and authentic hospitality. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. My partner and I traveled quite a distance to visit, and I'm so glad we chose this place. Cheers!

I visited this restaurant for the first time yesterday because my usual seafood spot was out of blue crabs. I ordered a half dozen #1 males, but when I got home, I discovered there were only five crabs instead of six. Additionally, some of the crabs were overcooked and mushy. I tried calling the restaurant later that evening, but they were closed. This morning, I called hoping that the owner, Sam, would address the issue, but he claimed that they don't usually make mistakes. Great customer service shouldn't be too much to ask for, but unfortunately, I didn’t receive any.

During a visit to Virginia to see my wife's family, we searched for good seafood restaurants in the Richmond area and this place popped up. If you're looking for a "fancy" dining experience, you might want to skip this spot because it's quite casual. There’s no indoor dining, but the picnic tables outside were perfect for us. We ordered the #8, which comes with a half pound of shrimp and a half pound of crab legs. One of us got cabbage, while I opted for the fries. There was plenty of food, and the prices were fair. (This could easily cost twice as much at other restaurants!) I would definitely recommend it!

I had the fried catfish and that was the bomb. This is my new seafood spot. I also received very good customer service from every employee. I will definitely be back. so glad I try.

It's good but they too expensive. And they need to switch up the hot food selection and season the awful collard greens. The cabbage is safe , mabe a little more season. Mac and cheese 5 stars it self especially with that burnt top you get some times. Don't do the crab cake sandwich.
