Eat here twice and both of them were fantastic. both paintings I had a sandwich, but saw other plates that look great. up to the sandwich... half is a relative understood. at least inches long, well made, on good brot we were told, is brought out of new york. we finished a meal with the la brea tarpit, a spin on cream brulee with dark dick let and half stuffed animal cracker. very funny and tasty.
Eaten here twice and both times have been fantastic. Both times I've had had a sandwich, but have seen other plates come out that look outstanding. As far as the sandwich...half is a relative term. At least 9 inches long, well made, on good bread we were told is brought down from New York. We finished one meal with the LA Brea Tarpit, a spin on creme brulee with dark chock let and half submerged animal crackers. Very fun and tasted excellent.
Delicious food. Had the sub and i could not eat the whole thing. Definitely not like a cheap sub shop. Had the fingerling potatoes side dish which was equally amazing!will definitely go again
Have tried to get in to dine here on a number of occasions, but have had difficulty as it is a small establishment (maybe nine tables) and is a surprisingly popular place. They do not take reservations, so good luck during meal times. Got in on a Saturday for "brunch". Didn't know what to expect. Turns out brunch means they serve breakfast items during lunch time. Two of our four had breakfast, two had lunch. The French toast was good. The Bayou Biscuit and gravy was interesting. It came with crawfish and catfish and eggs. It was so-so. The USS Brooklyn jerk chicken with cabbage came served in a 12 inch baguette and was best eaten with a fork. It was not really a sandwich. Looking around confirmed that everybody that ordered one of these huge "war" subs was eating it with a fork like a salad. The jerk chicken had good flavor. I'm glad we went, but am not certain we'll go back soon. Richmond has so many great places to eat, this won't top your list.
