We were on the Curonian Spit for the first time, we went by car with a guide for individual excursions. We were very pleased with what we saw and thanks a lot to our guide Tatyana! After the tour, we stopped by Fischhoff, booked a table in advance. We ordered cold Lithuanian borscht and a fisherman's fish soup with five kinds of fish, the portions were large and it was very tasty. We really liked all the dishes that we ordered. We ourselves did not eat such yummy from the Urals, well, Lithuanian borscht is just delicious, if you wake up on the Curonian Spit, then I want to tell you to call in this place is a must! We used to visit this restaurant several times and always enjoyed it. However, today we were disappointed! The food was not tasty, and the portions were small. We ordered hot-smoked flounder, which was incredibly dry and salty, and it seemed not fresh. The cold appetizers had only five small slices, hardly enough to eat. We also ordered grilled pikeperch, but it arrived as an overcooked dry fillet that didn’t taste grilled at all. To make it somewhat edible, we had to drown it in lemon juice, thankfully provided with every dish. We managed to eat since we were very hungry, but we left with an unpleasant aftertaste, and the bill turned out to be quite steep.

Tasty and quick. The prices are average—not too cheap, but not expensive either. There's a store next to the café that sells freshly smoked fish. The eel is amazing! Also, it's best to arrive about 30 minutes before lunch, as there are many tour groups at 12:00 and 14:00.

1. The tasting selection of fresh smoked fish is always a great choice, especially the local varieties. During our vacation, we enjoyed this fish daily and never got tired of it. Now we fondly remember it. 2. The café offers little perks like complimentary fish soup and free honey mead, among other things. 3. We ended up bringing home quite a bit of fish, and it all arrived intact because they packaged it properly in vacuum seal. There was a slight downside with the beer; they honestly informed us that the situation regarding it changed in 2019. However, now in 2023, it seems that ordering and paying for fish like everywhere else isn’t possible. There’s no fish delivery service anymore, which is disappointing. It’s a shame that there isn’t a similar establishment in Kaliningrad; apparently, maintaining quality is quite challenging.
