Restaurant Novotel Nice Aeroport Cap 3000

Since there were limited choices of restaurants around the Novotel Cap 3000, decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant, which is convenient to have after a long flight. It is a hotel restaurant; so expect prices to be higher than usual. The food itself...was decent; nothing spectacular but not awful either. Service was courteous but a bit slow. Overall, not a bad choice if you don't feel like exploring around the hotel for dining options.

I had dinner in the restaurant one night during my stay, because I just couldn't bring myself to go out, since I was still jet lagged. I was not too hopeful, since it was a hotel restaurant, even though it was in France. I should not...have worried. I ordered the duck, and it was amazing. It is the dish that I have when I am in France, and then spend six months trying to find at home. You have to come here to get it done properly. The staff is small, but very attentive but you are given your space, as well. I found on a trip years ago that unlike the US, there is no timetable for dinner in France it takes as long as it takes. So, even though I was alone, it was still a very pleasant evening, and much slower paced than at home, which is appreciated. I also had room service while I was staying, which is from the same kitchen (and delivered by my waiter) and the burger (I know, a burger in France, sorry) was amazing. So, the food here was beyond my hopes, and my hopes are pretty high when I am in France.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. But if in southern France and Monaco like the French and Monegasken do. And I'm not talking about being rude and...

The food was surprisingly good, the kids portions are quite large and my wife felt it was the best meal she had during her stay.
