Again never had a bad meal here and the servers have always been real pleasant. Also good value for your dollar.
I'm not sure what was going on in this restaurant when we walked in, but it seems that we were walking into some kind of drama. The waitress was all stressed out and telling us that she and the cook were fighting. She keep forgetting what drinks that we ordered, so she yelled across the restaurant to ask us repeatedly. When she brought the drinks out, she spilled one of them on my son. She was very apologetic, but it seemed like she was all over the place. When our food finally came, two out of the five meals were wrong, but she said that she couldn't ask the cook for corrections because he was mad at her. It was just a mess. The food was just ok.....crazy salty though. We just ate what came because we were running late and could wait for the staff to figure out what they were doing.
I love Lizards Thicket and have eaten at Lizards Thicket for a couple decades. But this morning, with a take away order, I had egg shells in my scrambled eggs. This is a first and it is disheartening I expect the best from Lizards Thicket and whomever was cooking didn't pay attention. It was the Lizards Thicket on Two Notch! I hate wasting money and well, this morning, I did because that is not acceptable. I've come to expect quality and this morning was not up to par! I still rate them pretty good but whomever is in charge needs to address this! Dr. Michael Wayne Varnadore
We were in town visiting family. We ordered from here. We were missing one whole meal, the cheese potato was just instant mashed potatoes with some cheese melted on top. No flavor! And my husband got slaw and it was literally just thin sliced cabbage. No sauce of ANY type! The shrimp sauce was basically ketchup and Mayo mixed! We will never go there again.
Please make my dream come true and open a Lizard’s Thicket in my hometown. I love Tally but have not found a restaurant where the cooks know how to cook vegetables and sides. Beans and veggies are always overcooked and too salty. The veggies at L.Thicket are cooked enough to be done but not mushy and not too salty. I especially love the green beans, limas and black eyed peas, the best black eyed peas I’ve had in years. The turkey and dressing is delicious as is the cornbread. The only side I tried that I didn’t like was the potato salad, too much mayo for me. The blackberry cobbler (heated) with ice cream is fabulous. The dessert list includes several pies and cakes which all sound great. This is a bare bones restaurant with no frills but very friendly servers and reasonable prices. Meat and 3 is $9.99 but you can get veggie plates for less or a bowl of soup or chili for just under $5. Tallahassee’s calling…..we need you.
