Backbar - Somerville

Amazing Speakeasy experience. The line and wait was pretty long (30-45 min even though it was still early in the evening, but it was well worth it! I ordered food from Littleburg next door while I was in line. There is a small bar in the front by theline that you could get drinks while waiting. Once you?re seated, you?ll be in for a treat. The atmosphere of this bar is socool. The cocktails are innovative and themed. Bartenders and servers can take drink order to your liking (I got a drink thatisn?t in the menu! . I got one mocktail as well to pace myself, and I was not disappointed!

Small but intimate bar in Somerville, in Union Square. Came here for a few drinks. Because of the size, there's a decent line depending on what time you show up. The menu has detailed descriptions of the featured drinks that practically include everytype of alcohol. The food, while scarce, was also good (like the mezze platter! . Bit pricey, but overall, excited to visitagain soon !

This is definitely my favorite bar in the Boston area. There are plenty of drink options available, and if you don't see something you like on the menu, you can always ask the bartender to create a custom drink based on your mood or any special requests. They also offer a variety of themed drinks, which are my personal favorites. Recently, they featured drinks based on the Solar System and on Dune, both of which I absolutely loved.

Backbar lives up to its reputation as a fantastic spot for cocktails. The drinks are not only spectacular, fun, and creative, but the cozy atmosphere, good music, and friendly staff make it an ideal place for a memorable night out with friends. One member of our group who couldn't drink was pleasantly surprised when the waiter went above and beyond to prepare a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail for him. The place does get very busy, so I recommend going on a weekday at 7 PM to avoid the crowds. Even in late July, there was a growing queue by 8.30 PM. Despite the wait, it's definitely worth planning ahead and arriving on time to enjoy all that Backbar has to offer. Just a heads up, they still require proof of vaccination for entry.

The restaurant was fantastic from start to finish. At first, finding the entrance was a bit of a mystery, but it led to a cool speakeasy atmosphere. Inside, there was a unique mix of nerdy decor with Star Wars memorabilia on the walls. The menu was small but just right, and our waiter informed us we could choose from the menu, try a classic cocktail, or go with one of the bartender's suggestions. The service was quick, the drinks were excellent, and the overall vibe was fun. While the prices were a bit higher than usual for cocktails, it was definitely worth it.
