Now you're thinking theres no way the food is fresh if its served on a truck. Well the quality and textures here are 5 stars. My friends and I ordered the Tacos de Camaron, Poseidon and Mixta. The octopus and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Not too chewy and the combination of citrus with their house made salsa were perfect. Between the 4 of us this was plenty of food. Prices are reasonable and portions are great. Wait times can be long, but well worth it. Theres a big parking lot across the street and plenty of street parking around the corner. I would recommend eating right away as the food can get soggy.
Short and simple: Great food for the price. I strongly recommend the Shrimp tacos and their Poseidon tostada. Best thing ever! Side notes: Parking can be difficult, truck is parked on a main street. Cash only! They do not take cards of any type.
The tacos are tasty and the plate comes with a quarter of an avocado along with there salsa. But it's not a first choice for me.
The chuck wagon is the predecessor of the modern-day food truck. A taco truck is a large box truck that has a small Mexican restaurant in the back. They are relatively common in L.A.. When dissecting the anatomy of the taco, one must first start with its exterior: the tortilla. Blanketing meat, seafood or simple veggies could be any number of toppings. Its versatility is what makes it worthy of a weekly celebration. Mariscos Jalisco is a seafood truck, but makes one hell of a good Taco. The taco de camaron is a perfectly deep-fried taco shell, stuffed with massive shrimp, topped with housemade red salsa and avocado. This alone should have you speeding down Olympic Blvd. Get right to business with a whole plate of them. Don 't tinker with one or two. Mariscos Jalisco is a far cry from the standard Los Angeles food truck....it recently received a Michelin Bib Gourmet award. The pandemic almost killed lunch. With many working from home, food trucks have lost most of their lunch hour trade. Stop by this incredible truck and enjoy the fruta del mar wrapped in a crispy taco shell.
I love the tacos de camaron! They're crispy and perfectly fried. The tacos are really hot when they are served so be careful! You get a ton of shrimp in them and the flavors are great! The salsa and avocado on top go so well with it. It's so filling! There's also hot sauce on the side that you can use. I would definitely come back to try other things on the menu!
