This venue is open. One member of our party had the Truffle gnocchi today and enjoyed it.
Ordered the pork belly carbonara and it was not carbonara. There wasn't even egg in it. It was a cacio e pepe sauce if anything. Or a peppery Alfredo. But definitely not carbonara. Then on top of that, the pork belly was blah. Undersalted and chewy. Not coming back.
A little hole in the wall made up of an enclosed glass cube. Which makes it a little like a Petri dish. I was concerned about the cleanliness so I tried something simple, the $13 Mac Cheese. Sadly disappointed. I tried about 3 spoonfuls and threw the rest out.
Honestly not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. When a friend and I stopped by Rodeo 39 we were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of food options. This place caught our eye cause who doesn't love pasta and they had ample customization options. We decided on the pork belly carbonara. I thought it was good. Standard, creamy white sauce with ground pepper, green herbs, and pieces of pork belly scattered throughout. The pork belly could definitely be more tender. I like Rodeo 39 for it's large open dining space. There's a lot of tables for you to sit at. Especially like the open patio area for sunny California days.
