My son and I stopped on our way out from Dallas to our hunting lease in Baird. This was probably 15 years ago or longer. We waited for ever for a table (probably close to an hour, it was a Friday night). The only thing I wish was that the hostess had been a bit more forthright on how long it was really going to take, but that said, it was the best chicken fried steak we ever had. My son must have been all but 11 years old or younger, but he and I remember it like it was yesterday. Long wait be he was a champ and I hope we can go back together again sometime soon. I'll admit, I usually do not even eat white gravy...at all. But that Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy was the best thing I've had in a long time. This was my first time at Mary's after hearing great things about it, and it definitely will not be my last! We stopped on our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. The food was amazing and the service was just as amazing. Our waiter Cody went above and beyond! We also was blessed by the owner.
