Good food here.friendly staff.locals friendly enough.good selection of drinks.good menu.good location and very nice village.
My wife and I visited at lunchtime with the intention of having a couple of drinks and light lunch. We had a few drinks on the terrace and looked at the menu however it was just not appropriate for lunchtime dining. There were no sandwiches or lighter bites and to be honest I don’t know many people who would like to have an expensive lamb shank or a £150 (no typing error) turbot midday and mid week. (I appreciate the fish must have been a sharing item but.....)We reluctantly phoned st Petroc’s and had a faultless and I mean faultless 2 course lunch for £17.All I can say is please tone it down a bit in the daytime and add realistic items on to your menu.We have been before and we will return but whether we done or not is up to you.
We found this pub towards the end of the lunchtime and the lady behind the bar gave us a warm welcome. Our starters were quickly served and were very good (prawn cocktail and mozzarella sticks); the mains followed soon after we had finished and were accompanied by a huge fresh salad. Generous sized portions and a good pub meal.
Excellent local beers at lunch time so we returned for an evening meal which was simple and all very nice. Best ribs I've ever tasted and for reasonable money: not posh but very good at what it does
