We had the blackened cobia (fish of the day) tacos, blackened shrimp tacos, philly cheese steak, shrimp and corn chowder and fried pickles. So much outstanding food with great portions for the price. If you don't stop by here while on Hatteras then you truly are missing out.
The food here is amazing! I had the grilled old bay mahi mahi tacos and it was the best I’ve ever had. And the portion was huge! You definitely get your money’s worth here
We have been coming to Buxton for many years but it's our first time eating here. It won't be the last. The make your own fish tacos were delicious and I was so full! Our server was very nice and informative. This is a very cute little restaurant.
My husband and I enjoyed lunch this week, we ordered fried oysters, chowder, shrimp tacos, and a crabby patty with fries , all the food was fresh and delicious, staff were very friendly, fun atmosphere! Highly recommend!
To write this review, truly makes me sad. For 28 years I have been coming to Buxton and of those 28, 25 of them making my regular visits to Buxton Munch. I constantly direct people to visiting this restaurant on OBX Facebook pages and suggest it to friends who are not as familiar with the area when they are visiting as well. Today, during a heat wave, I visited Buxton Munch with my husband and our toddler and baby, excited for another great meal and visit. The reason I mentioned the heat wave is because we have a water bottle we bring with our son who needs to stay hydrated. We ordered our lunch, and when our food came out, the waitress came over to us and told us to put our 3 year old son’s water bottle away, clearly being directed by the owner to do so. You could tell it made her uncomfortable. I could understand if the restaurant was busy, and this was an adult’s drink. At the time, there was one other party at another table. It was for a child AND we ordered him a lemonade to boot, fully paying customers just making sure our child was hydrated. Patience and mellow vibes are preached here and this was anything but. Soon after being told to put the water bottle away, which we did no problem. A brand new hand written sign was posted on the door, by the owner, in a very passive aggressive manner. Far from mellow and patient. The food is outstanding, but the atmosphere was uptight and unwelcoming. So disappointing for us as this is something we really look forward to each visit to Buxton.
