Best deal on hwy 2! The donuts are great, and the lunch is even better for the price. Parking is the only hard part due to location and popularity. If you are hungry, stop here and you won't be disappointed.
I’ve been going here since I was about six and still doesn’t disappoint! All the doughnuts are really good (especially the bear paw ones My mom also said the coffee was really good too! 10/10 recommend for visitors and people who live in sultan!
When you're a tourist in Sultan you'll hear the same thing every place you go: eat breakfast at the Sultan Bakery. I'm happy to join in this chorus. 5 star service. As the only person in a travel group of four that needs breakfast to start their day, their speed and understanding warms my heart almost as much as their food.Narrative/service review (food below): I have a pretty awful aversion to dairy that I was initially worried about having to deal with since this bakery loves their cheese and icing. My first day in town I ordered their German sausage breakfast (eggs, hash brown, 2 links split lengthwise). Make no mistake, this place is absolutely packed in the morning. Was a decent wait time for my order, but absolutely worth it. Perfectly cooked everything and my only regret is not grabbing some ketchup for my hash browns.Day two, however, I wanted to learn from the delay I forced on my travel companions. Sultan Bakery offers burrito and muffin grab and go options, but both options come with cheese. I asked the cashier if she had anything quick and dairy free and I kid you not, 25 seconds after she ducked into the kitchen she brought out a cheese-free breakfast burrito. Absolutely the perfect way to start a travel day. My companions are more fortunate digestively and enjoyed the wide selection of pastries and grab and go, even if they don't need breakfast to wake them up. This is the kind of place that I'd go out of my way to eat at.German sausage review: This was my first German sausage in recent memory, my standards are now set. Just a bit spicy with a pleasant savory and salty. Tough enough that my plastic fork couldn't cut it in a styrofoam container in the back of a car, but the plastic knife worked well. I never worried about having to press so hard I'd cut through the container by accident. The hash browns were pretty standard, I'm not a hash brown enthusiast and I forgot to grab ketchup in my rush so I feel I can't give them a fair review. The eggs on the other hand: After an entire year of a starving college student daily egg and tortilla breakfast diet, I didn't know a simple over hard fried egg could have so much flavor. I was sad I couldn't savor it more on the road.Burrito review: I was initially worried, in that uniquely American way, that the size wouldn't be enough. First bite in that worry was gone. I could not tell you what individual parts made up that burrito, just that they all were cooked and flavored together in perfect harmony. In my experience it's hard to make breakfast food feel healthy, especially at a diner, but that burrito tasted like a full night's sleep. Even without the cheese; A perfected recipe from a local landmark.Quick addition: the taco sauce packet they put in my burrito bag was also some of the best I've had and was the right size to last the whole way through. It's the little things!
Breakfast at the sultan bakery is always a treat. We grab a box before our meal is served because we get a sweet treat for later and can never finish the large portions. The homemade quality and taste of everything is what makes the bakery the best.
