The bar wait staff on Saturday was VERRRY slow and overall not great (people were complaining and walking out) We were not in a rush, so it was not a huge deal for us. The brunch food was good, service was mediocre at best, just meh.
The food was good and there were many things I could have ordered. The issue was service: too slow at the beginning and too fast later. They actually brought our salads and entrees at the same time! We sent the entrees back. When they brought them back I was just finishing my salad.
With the talented Cristina Martinez at the helm, this is one of the best restaurants in northern New Mexico. Do not miss the Ash Crusted Tuna Aguachile, both delicious and beautifully presented or the Hatch Chile Relleno, just bursting with New Mexico flavor. Be sure and save room for the S'More, sinfully good and a visual delight! The staff is lovely and efficient and the setting is quiet, comfortable and elegant.
Theh food was mediocre and overpriced. I had the lamb rack, which was well-prepared but a bit fatty. The accompaniments (carrots-undercooked; kale-uninspiring) were a disappointment as well. Charcuterie board was also so-so.
We chose this location for a nice dinner while stay cationing away from our rental. We got there right when it opened at 5pm. For starters, had not realized how beautiful the resort was the pictures online don't do it justice. We will be looking into that as an option for another visit. Food was amazing. For appetizers we tried the summer tomato salad (in season and delish , hummus (always good , and the tuna aguachile this was phenomenal presentation. I would say that I did get a whole taste of a fruit loop with everything together. For dinner we got the bourbon brined pork chops, roasted lamb, and beef tenderloin for the latter, this was the best I've ever had. Deserts were so good as well. We had a really great time here and we do prefer to eat early on when a restaurant opens so unable to comment on how things progress for the kitchen or bar. I will say this isn't our first time in Taos, so the multitude of construction on main street left us with a bit of a delay in arriving on time. The restaurant was gracious to still seat us, we were less than 5min late but the point is to leave a bit earlier to account for any construction down town (we were leaving from El Prado . Also note valet parking is complimentary (not including tip but if you choose to self park.... the lot is a double spot. So you'll be blocked in by someone that shows up later if you're the first one in the spot. Just an FYI : Highly recommend adding this restaurant to your list of nice dinners when around Taos! 5/5
