Yu Garden Asian Cuisine - Taos

That was an unexpected jewel we stumbled on. The beautiful Taiwanese lady who served us was enough to love this place, but the food was really extraordinary and some of the best Chinese food we had. We started with chicken noodles (aka potstickers), which were easily fried to a perfect crunchy without hard edges. The Cashew chicken was filled with zucchini, mushrooms and pineapple while it was generous with the chicken and the cashews. The Mushu pig is a highlight as it was made so perfect without being so tender or greasy. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hidden jewel.

I stopped at 7:00 and waited at the switch for about 5 minutes before someone would take my order. I said it was for takeout and was said it would be a 40-minute wait. I'm sorry, but it's not worth it! I went next door and got me in 10 minutes.

Super sweet lady who leads the place! The food was authentic and delicious. The spring rolls were so tasteful together with the general Tso chicken and Tempura Veggies with shrimps! Oh, and I can't forget the cheese bets!!

Wow! This place cooks some great tasting food. Do not come here for appearance or decor, come for amazing Chinese cuisine. The sesame chicken had lean, white meat, perfectly cooked... slightly broken and crispy. The volcano shrimp had exactly the right amount of warmth with a wonderful taste. I spooned out the whole sauce from both plates at the end. I would have preferred pork rolls over the spring rolls, but after my entree I forgot everything about the appetizers. I really wish I had lived closer to this restaurant, I would be here once a week. When you visit Taos, stop at Yu Garden Asian Cuisine. If you live here, I envy you. Tell Rose Greg from Texas.

We ordered the house fried rice and family style tofu, and both dishes were delicious. The fried rice was not greasy and had a refreshing flavor. The tofu was spicy but manageable, packed with lots of flavor. They are currently only offering takeout, but I highly recommend giving them a try. You won't regret it.
