Well what can I say walking into this place sent me into a time warp. It's a classic. It's the best place I have been to in years. Ye Olde pub feel and most enjoyable watching the local lads catch a fish or two. Good pub fare, it looked like the locals really enjoy it. I WILL be back. Happy 40th Jezza (he must be a local legend slash top bloke)
We stopped off for lunch after driving from Frankston via Phillip Is. and were pretty peckish. Were a bit dubious re the expected meal quality and were not far off the mark as the meal was only average and the prices were not as reasonable as one would expect. ( Still, there is no competition ) Suggest that you try and find an alternative spot and you will probably fare better. Won't rush down there to have another lunch.
$25 for garlic prawns, not bad I thought, until it arrived. A total of five prawns and not even king prawns. Then I started eating it and found a dead insect on my plate. Was asked did I want something else which was a definite "NO", got my money back with not so much as "sorry about that". Not recommended
The meals here are ok, its a country pub largley patronised by locals. It does get very busy during peak summer season. There are pool tables and an open fire in the winter. They do offer a courtesy bus service, door to door which is pretty handy. The front deck looks out over the Tarwin River.
