The food was incredible as was the wine, we were very spoilt. And the pool was a great place to relax. Many thanks to Pino and his family/staff for a great stay! We will return!!
From the moment I booked our stay with Elisa I felt welcomed. She greeted us on our arrival with a well earned drink and use of the pool facilities. Elisa, her family and staff were so accommodating. The food is a must. The accommodation was clean and very well presented. I would not hesitate to return to this beautiful idyllic place. Thank you Elisa, family and staff for a very relaxing stay!
I have been there with a couple of friends for 4 days. We wanted a place to relax, which was close to some place of interest. Teano is not far from Caserta and is connected by train, so we managed to visit the Royal Palace Reggia. A member of the family that owns the Agriturismo took us to the train station and was waiting for us when we got back. They suggested us also to go visit Teano's museum. We taght it wasn't a good idea, but we were so wrong! We wanted to thank them, because we enjoyed our stay thanks to their homely affection and because the pool was just perfect! The only negative aspect regards our bellies, which grew because we ate too well. Anyway, it deserves 5 stars.
Having been in Italy since 1997, I continue to be amazed at the pride taken in presenting traditional cuisine lovingly prepared from the heart of the kitchen and the heart of the soul. Agriturismo Mamma Oca is true to this Italian standard. We arrived on the Sunday before Christmas, greeted by geese, a sheepdog (Orso), 21 pups (2 different mothers), a small house dog, and the family. Although the restaurant was closed in preparation for Christmas, the family invited us to stay for lunch, sharing what they had prepared for their extended family lunch. This was a day to remember! The antipasto included some of their own cured meats (cheek with pepper), sheep cheese, roasted artichokes, now in season with toasted bread. The ziti with chunks of meat was tasty and bountiful. Roasted pork cutlet was our main course, with a side of eggplant parmesan, which was a miracle in flavor and texture. Cracking open sweet roasted chestnuts at the end of the meal, was the perfect grand finale to a Sunday lunch. Sitting close to the fireplace, we finished off the meal with limoncello and good conversation talking until the sun began to cast shadows and it was time to drive home. I also need to commend their excellent house red wine and olive oil, both of which we came home with 5 liters of each. We will be back!
We didn't get influenced by the negative reviews they gave star... and we did well. we ate there is no bad, the kitchen is homemade and typical, the dishes are abundant. we have taken appetizers (many and various, meats, cheeses and vegetables), as first tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and truffle (pictured), as second grilled meat and as sweet tiramisù. the slice of tiramisù cake has pleasantly surprised us because it was well done. However, I agree that the place should be better maintained and kept, like the pool that is in a state of neglect... Moreover, unfortunately, when we were there were no farm animals.
