The Vue - THE GARDENS

We spent 14 days at SkyCity and ate breakfast and dinner at The Vue on several occasions. We noted a distinct improvement since our previous visit last year. The food had definitely improved at the buffet with fresh prawns and seafood on offer, as well as a variety of cooked offerings. There is also a good a la carte menu on offer at the bar but you can eat your meal in the restaurant if there is room, we always head out onto the balcony which is virtually empty at 8.30 pm. They have extended their half price buffet meals for seniors to Tuesdays as well as Mondays, terrific value. Breakfast had also improved. On busy weekends and Mondays and Tuesdays there is a buffet and on the other days you can choose from their breakfast menu, continental alone or with hot food delivered promptly - very good and quite speedy. Well done Vue you have made some great improvements. Tip: make sure to book at weekends, Mondays and Tuesdays, it gets very busy.

Had an amazing breakfast here with my partner. Absolutely no faults for the morning rush. Great mix of foods and fantastic service. Have since recommended it to my friends and family and I am sure to come again soon!

The Vue is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day and does special half price deals for seniors each Monday, where a “senior” starts at 50! The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of cooked food and Continental style food; all for a half price $9.95. The full cost is $28 while kids under five eat free.We tried the senior’s half price special lunch on the Monday too, but it didn’t suit our palates, as it as all deep fried with chips (apart from a Caesar salad). It was good value though.W tried the buffet dinner on the following Monday, heaps of food for $12.95 (full price $35). The only problem with The Vue was the noise. Chatter was amplified by the acoustics and tended to be rather loud.

Food was excellent, service too with a sunset to die for. Value here at $38pp. Buffet selection was wide and varied, salads a standout, even cheese and biscuits, maitre'd switched on and made for a good nite
