Spiller - TRIESTE

I dont even know where to start. The food was absolutely atrocious, the staff unfriendly. I don't know the last time I ate something so bland, uninspired and tone-deaf. Overall an expensive lesson for us. Friendly reminder: DO NOT order the cheeseburger if you want to hang on to your guts. Good luck to anyone crazy enough to try!

Firstrly, the pub was full and we tought that it is good place to eat. We ordered a steak, cheeseburger, coca cola and sparkling water. Cocacola came in a GLASS without bottle, and it was not even sparkling. First time after Bosnia in 1998. to see that soda comes in a glass without bottle. Cheeseburger was horrible, meat tastes as Burgerking after 2 days. Suspicious meat. Steak was ok. Meals did not come together so I was sitting and waiting for my food while my girfriend was coping with cheeseburger.

While my husband can eat pizza 7 nights in a row, I like a little bit more variety and so we ended up at this restaurant which caters both to pizza lovers and to those craving something else (in this case, mostly cuisine from South Tyrol/Alto Adige). I chose a variation of dumplings with sauce, all of which were really tasty, accompanied by a very decent mixed salad. Hubby was more than happy with his pizza. The location (view of the port) is also very nice if you don't mind the pretty busy road that separates you from the water. Can definitely recommend!

Cibo buono, meglio i piatti tradizionali. La birra di Natale super. Controllo rigoroso del Green pass

Il locale è molto accogliente e sembra di essere proiettati in un contesto di montagna, nonostante quasi si avverta il suono del mare. Il cibo è ben preparato e strutturato sui sapori tipici altoatesini. Il personale è cortese e sono rispettate le norme anti-Covid. Potrebbe migliorare il rapporto qualità-prezzo. In definitiva, è una buona alternativa ai ristoranti di pesce che affollano il lungo mare triestino.
