And almost all the dishes were under cooked. On top of this no one comes to serve even simple things like water. Their main attractions are the live sea food displayed outside. If you don’t order that , then they treat you as if you don’t have any other means to eat and they are doing you a favour by providing food. The only thing good was the ambience of the restaurant. Other than that nothing was good. Food was expensive, very poor customer service and long time to serve food.
I had the silly idea of wishing to eat fish on January 2, 2023. Obviously the fish I got had been caught the previous year. I had to wait 45 mn to get a red snapper which, even covered with a thick layer of bitter garlic, tasted both rotten and muddy. Disgusting and dishonest.
I'm an European tourist here and even to me it was blatantly obvious that the Indians are pushed to the back of this restaurant whilst the tourists, read Europeans, get the front line seats on the waterfront. If this form of racism floats your boat, go for it but personally I found it distasteful. Added to that, my partner is Indian so that must have put them in a real quandary! The food is OK and beers served in tea mugs due to strict licensing laws here and you can't complain about the price, if you're coming from Europe. Personally I have found better places to eat where I felt more comfortable. Would I return, definite no.
Whenever I am in Kovallam, I always dine at this restaurant. The view at sunset and afterwards is fantastic. They offer a great variety of fresh fish and prawns to choose from. The dishes are cooked to your preference and I always enjoy finishing off my meal with a Kingfisher beer. What's not to love!
Look how they cook fish it is really a show, seaview from the terrace , I was there in the evening, my friends also liked the place
