Hotel Ochsen - Uster

Restaurant ochsen is a great place to eat. Food is always top quality staff are very good .we love to talk to Katy. She is a lovely person and really on the ball. She does not miss a single thing.

It's a small Hotel 3 stories, steep stairs - no elevator. Generaly clean, nice service. Breakfast included but very poor, the home made jam is a nice touch - saves the breakfast. Church very close, so are the bells that seems like sound all day long, it didn't bother me personally except when the windows were open. The restaurant is in the loby, actually no loby as such. Good food, very expensive. Location good many stores and restaurants nearby.

This is actually a very good restaurant. It is part of the Hotel Ochsen and also has outdoor seating. The service is very good, they even have English menus, and the décor is simple but fine.Make sure you order the Pork Chop. It's a big fat juicy 350gm Pork Chop (Kotelett in German.) It was very well cooked, perfectly done but still juicy and very well seasoned. Pork is often bland and over cooked. The other parties in my group ordered the Züri Gschnätzlets (Swiss german national dish of veal slices in a cream sauce) and the grilled Chicken breast. They were very well cooked.They also have a good wine list with perfect choices to accompany your meal.To be honest, I was well surprised by this restaurant and recommend it.

Clean and great location Had lunch first day good food( but limited choice) Very helpful staff especially as I stammered with my school German!

Good food, good wine, reasonable price for Switzerland and very good staff. Definitely one of the best meals we have ever had!
