Red Mill - Vergennes

I was surprised that we needed a reservation during the busy season, but I'm glad we made one. The food was decent, but didn't quite live up to the menu descriptions. The vegetarian salad I ordered sounded amazing, but ended up looking a lot like a Caesar salad (although I didn't taste it). The open-faced short rib sandwich could have used more carving, but it was well seasoned and tasty. The wine selection was impressive. Our server, Cathy, was especially kind and attentive. She asked all the right questions and handled our comments with grace.

I ordered the tuna taco and it was fantastic. The wine selection was good as well with generous pours. Our waitress was excellent and very helpful.

The restaurant's staff is well-trained and hardworking, providing excellent service.

Great food in a relaxed barn type setting that has a lot of charm.

We visited the restaurant twice in our three day stay- it was excellent both times and staff was wonderful as well.
