Raposo is a family run restaurant catering Portugese cuisine. The high ceiling, partly the old roof construction visible, makes it spacious and comfortable. Service is friendly and the food more than okay. Portions more than enough, food well prepared and tasty, fresh bread, house wine okay. Nothing to complain, certainly not the prices. One wall shows the large Raposo logo designed by one of the daughters- it looks great! If they would open up the entire roof to the old beams and put some light on it, it could be magic in my opinion.
Raposo is a quaint, everyday restaurant at the heart of Vidigueira. Not easily spotted from the street, I would not assume it 's size and high ceilings! Staff is friendly even if the young lady who attended us was a little bit all over the place. She was always helpful, caring. I was on a business trip and we stopped at Raposo for lunch before heading north to Porto. One of the daily offerings was lagartos , literally meaning lizards ! But fear not, it 's an unusual pork cut, from the neck, so we were told, that I 've found only in this side of Alentejo. These lizards are thin, tender strips of lean meat that, after passing some time in a grill, get a bit crooked, resembling a lizard minus the legs, hence the name, I guess. Anyway, the meat was tender and tasty, seasoned with just the right amount of salt, served with a generous portion of fries and boiled rice and a side tomato and lettuce salad. We had a Superbock beer as we were traveling (and driving) and wine was not an advisable choice for a 4 plus hour road trip.
Não comia assim a meses , uma experiência gastronómica maravilhosa com um atendimento muito atencioso.
Bom restaurante, simples, mas muito tradicional e saboroso. Excelente qualidade/preço. Aconselhado
