Dd's Diner - Village of Ossining

We ordered from this diner through GrubHub and picked up our food in person. Upon getting home, we made the horrifying discovery of what looked and tasted unmistakably like human mucus present in my wife's nachos. It was one of the most revolting experiences imaginable to find such a vile, unidentified substance in your food.Until this establishment takes serious measures to overhaul their food handling and proves they can prevent such grotesque occurrences, I cannot recommend dining here or ordering take-out. No one should have to go through the utter disgust we experienced, regardless of whether you dine-in or get delivery. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to risk ingesting vile substances

Update: food has gotten so much better and the service was awesome. I'm giving more stars.Cute old fashioned diner. They do have some interesting menu items that aren't typically seen in a diner. But it's mostly what you'd expect from a diner. Service was passable, food was just okay. Having said that New York is known for its diners. There are many very good diners in NY. I would say this one is right smack in the middle of the pack. I only ate there once but I would try it again to see if my second time was any better. I wanted steak so I ordered delivery to my hotel so I can finish up some work. The delivery site said that it was the restaurant staff that does the delivery. Delivery was delayed. I requested an update and they said it was almost there. Twice with the same response. It was about an hour after the order was suppose to arrive. I called the restaurant and they said the order was dropped off at the front desk. No notification about the order being delivered, no idea how long it was sitting at the desk. I bring my steak upstairs. It was a 16oz strip. I asked for utensils and none was provided. No spoon for the soup, no fork and knife for the steak. The steak was cold and tasteless. No salt was used or provided. The hotel said the restaurant should have called, the restaurant said the hotel should have called. Saddest meal ever! So disappointed.

I like going here for the breakfast! It’s very good, last time I came here I ordered the fried chicken, which unfortunately was more on the dry end, and the mash potatoes tasted like they come from a premix packet
