Just go there. Do not hesitate. The place looks like a tabac and tables cannot be reserved and that is why, Monday to Thursday you have to get there between 12 and 12.30 if you want a table.Honest good food at reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.
A Monday lunchtime, and this huge brasserie was heaving. So there must be something good about it ! The proof was there, a very welcoming and pleasant staff, nobody seemed to panic with over 150 people to serve! The food was good too! Excellent daily dishes, reasonably priced menu, home made desserts. Would thoroughly recommend if you are in this area. Next to the station. Parking nearby. Outside terrace.
Luckliy someone sitting next to us during our flight to Nice recommended this lovely family run restaurant for us. We ate lunch there a couple of times. Not very pretty from the outside, the garden behind the fence was a delight as was the food and the service. You can choose between plat du jour, pâte du jour or a salad or have something from the big wood grill the meats seemed delicious. The best part of the excellent lunch was the dessert: best Crème brûlée ever. Our children had grilled chicken and fries and loved every part of their meal.
Today the special was rump steak au poivre. The steak arrived so over cooked, my belt would have tasted better. It was returned and a replacement at the table almost instantaneously. My wife ordered the tagliatelle which was cold and returned. The food was the worst I have experienced in years and would recommend that you avoid and drive straight past!
