I hesitated to lower my rating since it could have been for an emergency, but noted that another reviewer experienced the same issue. On a positive note, the Red Curry with Shrimp was excellent, and I really love this place overall. I learned that the restaurant tends to be slow on weekends and might be closed on Saturdays, so it's a good idea to call ahead if you plan to go then. Considering this new information, I’m changing my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. Initially, I rated it 4 stars because I was frustrated by their closure on a Saturday, but now that I understand the situation, I feel it deserves a full 5-star rating.
The food was pretty good, and the prices were very reasonable compared to other Japanese restaurants in DC. The tonkotsu domburi was an interesting idea: serve the chashu (pork belly) and nidamago (half-boiled egg) from a tonkotsu ramen on top of rice instead. If everything had been piping hot instead of warm (pork and rice) or cold (the egg), I would have gone with five stars. Still, it was a tasty meal.
Staff were very nice. Very clean and relaxing place. Ramen base soup was good, noodles not so much. Takoyaki here is good too.
Not the greatest ramen in the city but the difference between here and the top notch spots is not considerable. Way more accessible than most and inexpensive and still quite tasty. A frequent lunch break spot.
The third floor offers a surprisingly spacious and clean environment. While the ramen may not compare to a specialty ramen shop, it was still quite enjoyable. Overall, it’s a fantastic fast-food option that is affordable, practical, and tidy. They are also available on GrubHub.
