The other got shrimp skewers and vegetables. Very satisfying, and dining in such historic environs only added to the experience. With tip, $85 for the two of us... however, we used our Capital One card (no foreign transaction fee) and when we got the credit card bill found that the exchange rate worked well in our favor. Dinner was actually only about $65 USD.
I arrived at the restaurant around noon after visiting Campobello. We were seated promptly, but then waited over 10 minutes before being served. The restaurant was quite busy with a large crowd and only 2 waitresses working. Eventually, they had to bring someone from the kitchen to assist. The staff were working hard and I can't fault them for that. However, it seems that the management should consider reevaluating their staffing levels. Once we finally received our food, it was very delicious.
Beautiful restaurant and great food. Service was great. View was great. Definitely recommend it. I will return as soon as I can!
If you want to transport yourself to a different time period and enjoy a peaceful view of the Bay of Fundy while savoring a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, this is the spot for you. The food options are fairly good, with tasty appetizers and a limited selection for lunch and dinner. It's best to arrive early, as they close at 5 pm Atlantic time, and if the weather is nice, take advantage of the opportunity to sit outside.
This restaurant is open seasonally due to snow. But it is worth the trip to enjoy the warmth and comfort of this rustic place. The food is excellent, with a full bar. Smart to make reservations especially in high season. Makes a complete day with a trip to FDR''s Summer Home on Campobellol Island.
