And the crust is not so hard that it tears the tip of the mouth. It's perfect. Make the best grilled cheese sandwiches! Don't let the old building scare you! A must try!
We met Sourdough Willy's on Tuesday afternoon peasant market on SE Chavez, south of Hawthorne, in Portland. I hope this post is for the right business. I don't say being a sourdough expert, but I know what I like, and the roles we bought are wonderful. I made a chicken sandwich on a slightly roasted roll and it made for one of the best sandwiches in the last memory. I look forward to ending the rest of the package and hopefully finding these people on the market next week.
Omgd. The sourdough here is to die. The sticky rolls (also sourdough) are delicious and delicate. If you haven't been here yet and live here within an hour, run. It's the sweetest little mother and pop bakery. We drove for years without knowing it was there. Your sign is partly hidden by bushes. The apricot danish is also fabulous. You even have an old school bread cutter if you want discs. Bread, always. And they have cookies.
We live two blocks and pick up a laib sourdough every week. Will and Grace have small and large breads, rounds, dinners, cut or inspired, and wheat bread. The selection of cookies is plentiful and perfect for ant-sweet tooth: molasses, chocolate chip, oatmeal. The bear claws so rich and satisfying, the sticky bungalows close to the right amount of nuts, fruit and cinnamon, and the Danishes each perfectly with their signature fruit and hint of cardamom. The scenarios are the most beautiful scenarios on this side of the Atlantic. Occasionally Macaroons that melt in the mouth. And perfectly brewed coffee to go.
Even though Grace has retired, the bread runs through the family, and it's soft and delicious. it makes the best cheese bread!
