Really neat sweet selection, I thought I'd gone back in time to my childhood years in the 60's. Whenever I'm here, I always eat here!
Alright place for icecream cones. They put a jelly bean in the bottom of your cone if you get a junior cone. Can have long line ups. Hot inside. Small inside. They serve sandwiches and drinks. Not licensed. Young kids serving me. No grouchy lady today! LOL. They have outdoor seating.
Have a cabin near by, thought I would take the family for a treat and support the near by businesses. We went in and it was close to closing time and staff was not happy that we had showed up, service was not great. The ice cream was great found out it's Alberta made, a bit expensive as 4 single scoops cost over $20 dollars. Have gone there 3 more times at different times of the day and the service has not gotten better. Have been served by one of the owners and the other times young staff. I think that this place would be a hit as it reminds me of restaurants that the hallmarks movies film in. They serve breakfast and lunch they also have pies and they look great I have not tried them though. I think this place would be a hit if the service was better. I have read other reviews about this place and they are not different then mine.
I really struggled to think about what to say about this place. On one hand the food was great and they serve high quality coffee and tea, all wrapped in cute decor. The other hand, however, is just to great to ignore. Now maybe she was having a bad day, maybe she hates her job, I'm just a customer looking for a warm lunch on a cold day but the unhappy service offered at the counter wiped any hope of this being an above average review. I am a tea snob and will only drink milk in my Earl Grey. She was totally accommodating and poured a little creamer of milk for me. Great, right? The problem...it was a dirty container they use to make espresso in. Normally, that would be an automatic one star review, but she did re-pour my tea and gave me the milk carton to add the milk myself. My other problem is the speed in which the food arrived, my dining mates did not receive their orders until I was half done my own. I don't discourage coming here, as I am hoping it was all just a bad winter day in a summer tourist driven community, hence the two stars.
I echo the other reviewer the food is tasty, the space is kitschy and inviting, but the woman behind the counter really needs to get a different job, or if it's her business she needs to hire front end staff who don't get irritated by customers simply being there. That lady is a total b h.
