First the store was packed , no social distancing , no hand sanitiser for customers, no signs advising to safe distance. I waited on footpath until store was empty, chose my pie, paying with credit card , i was told I must spend $10 or over to use a card. Due to new covid advice ,pay with credit card, i didn't have cash also didnt need 2 pies. I left the store without the pie, the middle age attendant wasn't at all concerned. Lose one , another waiting. For many reasons I will never go back, I live local.
One of the best Sausage Rolls in a while while the Steak Kidney Pie was pretty good and the wife loved her Scallop Mornay Pie ! Only concern was the base was very sketchy flaky crumbled way too early ! Otherwise a good choice but you need to sit outside to eat or Riverside Park across the road but not whilst driving !! Friendly quick service a chance to stretch the legs !
Stopped in on the way south. It was just before closing but the Steak and mushroom pie and sausage roll I had were fresh. They must do a late baking.
There’s nothing as Aussie as a meat pie......... there’s nothing as good as a good meat pie........ this is not the best, nor the worst we have had. The lamb and rosemary tasted as it should but way to much ‘jelly meat’ and gravy to be rated as good........ the Sweet tart tasted of something- but the flavor ‘fridge’ was not an option. My wife’s roll was ok and her sweet tart was better.......
Steak and Kidney, and Steak pies bought. Both were hard to eat because of soggy bases. Both had VERY LITTLE MEAT, but MASSES OF THICKENED GRAVY. These were NOT cheap. The pastry was nice and if you like pepper as I do, the flavour was nice. Try elsewhere.
