The Fox - York

It's probably unfair to give this pub 5 stars as I've been visiting this place for 15 years or so and it has undergone many changes, owners and refurbishments. It's my dad's second home. But in all those years it has remained a favourite and each new owner has only improved it. It's a large pub, but with different sections consisting of a traditional Saloon, lounge and snug bar. There is a great back garden which is nice in the summer and a glass conservatory.

Little gem of a drinking pub and massive beer garden that often has live entertainment or events on.

I always like to have a drink here when in York. It's an Ossett Brewery outlet, however it always has an excellent range of guest beers as well as draft ciders to tempt you to spend longer than you had hoped! The beers are well kept and served in good condition. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. Even better, they are quick to notice when a beer is running out so you never have to query whether there's anything wrong with it! They have a large garden, so ideal for families in the Summer. They also do a good range of locally produced pork pies to snack on.

We often pop into The Fox after work or on a lunch break... (for a cola obviously) and it's always nice to see friendly staff working hard. Good beers all round and a great selection for everyone. Very big beer garden so great for summer and warmer evenings and days. The pub has kept all it's original features so there's somewhere for someone. Highly recommend. J
