Definitely hidden gem! I’ve spent few days trying around Cheticamp during our staying in National Park, this one is absolutely a must-go. Fresh seafood since early season, not expensive at all, great service, dining place is good for family and friends, we see a large group as well if you are a group gathering. Party pack is what we ordered, if you also want crab they got lobster crab combo at similar price. Just FYI their breakfast only from Tuesday to Sunday. Will definitely recommend.
Beautiful location and amazing staff. The most delicious and fresh sea food every tried. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely go again! Forgot to take pictures of food, but loved every bite of it :
The food is above average pub fare but the entertainment and atmosphere, especially during Celtic Colours is outstanding. Incredible music and a great time!
During our early May visit to Cheticamp we worried we were too early for lobster (and everything else). But our seafood dinners at Le Gabriel were a highlight of our stay in Cape Breton. Do not be put off by the hockey jerseys decor- although this restaurant has a vibe like a sports bar, the food is STELLAR. As soon as our waiter put down heavenly fluffy buttery home made brioche buns we knew we had arrived at a restaurant that truly cared about the quality of the food. Our first night we had Crab legs which were a great price and which were massive, delicious and came with delicious sides of potatoes and green beans. This dinner was so good that we came back for the Lobster, which was also enormous, expertly prepped, and a totally reasonable price. Not to mention they had sold all of the ones they had earlier in the day so they went out specially to get four for us. Don’t skip the home made kettle fries. Haven’t tried the home made butterscotch cake yet because we are too full but we took some to go. This is not the place to go for a fancy wine list, but do not skip this restaurant on your way down the Cabot Trail. While the vibe is a bit pool hall, the other patrons made us feel welcome, the service was fantastic, the best we had in Nova Scotia, , and it’s just really a nice family spot for mind blowing seafood.
