The tempura prawn and yam was crispy and perfectly cooked, while the sushi and roll combinations were tasty but not particularly unique. The seafood yaki udon was a standout dish, with perfectly cooked noodles and delicious sauce. Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience at Mega Sushi. The food was delicious, the service was good, and the ambiance was pleasant.
This sushi restaurant is located on Austin Avenue in Coquitlam. It currently has no competitors in the area, giving Mega Sushi an advantage. The restaurant is small with limited seating, so there may be a wait for a table. It is operated by Korean staff who are professional, friendly, and efficient. They work quickly to ensure a fast turnover of tables and increased business. During our visit, we ordered four dishes, including ikura sushi, Austin roll, spicy chopped scallop roll, and a combination of tuna and salmon sashimi. The only downside was that the pieces of the Austin roll were too big, making it difficult to eat. The seaweed also seemed chewy, which was not enjoyable. However, the flavors of the sushi were good, especially when paired with the sauce. The pricing at Mega Sushi is reasonable and the portion sizes are decent. Despite the chewy seaweed, we would definitely consider returning for more Japanese food and sushi in the future.
Mega Sushi is a mega popular sushi joint in Steveston. They have a quite innovative menu and are always busy, so reservations are recommended! The salmon and hotate sashimi, as well as the assortment of nigiri that we ordered was nice and fresh. The standout dish was the 'Godzilla Bites ' deep fried seaweed and rice with salmon, tuna, torched spicy scallop, and a special sauce. Each bite had a great combination of textures and flavours, though the rice definitely could 've been crispier.
This is my go-to sushi restaurant! Always great food and friendly service.
Best sushi in the tri-cities. Fantastic sushi spot, my favorite by far. Their teriyaki bowls are second to none and come in huge portions. My favorite is their tofu teriyaki don, which most places don't do. <br/ <br/ Never had a bad meal here, and often receive a complimentary appetizer courtesy of the chef. If you like good sushi, go here!
