The halibut was seasoned lightly with a saffron sauce and was also cooked perfectly. The service was spot on...not to over bearing but with enough attention to not want for anything. This restaurant is a gem in a city with MANY restaurants to choose from. Bravo to staff and management.
We booked ahead and were allocated a great window seat. Server was very friendly and took time to chat to us. We both ate steaks which were excellent. Only word of warning is that this was an expensive option. With service the bill came to $230 for 2mains, one starter, 2 desserts and drinks.
Lucky us, we were seated at a high top in the beautiful bar and it was perfect after a long day on the Icefields Parkway (don't miss that!). The hostess and our waitress were unbelievably excellent! And the food was some of the best in our three month trip across North America - the taste and the presentation. We loved everything about it.
I dropped by this place after a 55-mile bike ride. I made the right choice by coming here. They are pretty busy so please be aware you may not get a table right away if you're bringing a party for 4 or more. They switch out their menus all the time apparently, which is a huge plus. I ordered the apple sauce pork tenderloin. It was delicious!! Great customer service and clean restroom!
Booked a table for 8 here this evening, in person, and were told we'd be seated upstairs. When we arrived turns out we were tucked away in a private room on our own, which we didn't want. Unable to wait the 45-60 minute wait for another table being offered we had to put up with the private room. When it came to the bill I politely declined to pay the "discretionary" 18% service charge on our portion of the bill as I was not happy....but basically they wouldn't allow this and the completely ineffectual manager just kept quoting "company policy" to me. If I'd been in the U.K. I would have known my rights and walked but not so sure in Canada and was running out of time to get the kids home so had to pay. Meal was OK but generally this place is overpriced and they didn't really care whether we enjoyed our meal or not, they're just interested in extracting money from tourists. Go elsewhere and avoid as some other reviewers have said, it's an expensive mistake to make.
