The restaurant is clean, comfortable and serves tasty food.We had a burger, chicken fried steak and chopped steak. The were all delicious. The side were great also. Service was wonderful they checked on us multiple times. Refilled our drinks and asked if we wanted to go drinks. The restrooms were clean and large, had soap and electric hand dryers inside and paper towels outside by the baby changing station. We had a wonderful break on our trip. Parking: There is plenty of parking on a gravel lot. Wheelchair accessibility: Due to the gravel lot, wheelchair access is a little rough. Once in the restaurant there access is good.
What a gem of a spot, steeped in history just off I 20. The food was outstanding and surprisingly affordable! The open faced chicken fried steak sandwich tasted homemade and absolutely delicious. And don't get me started on the BLT it was packed with thick, savory bacon slices!
On our way to Odessa Texas. (From Fort Worth) Stopped by for lunch. What an exciting memory. An excellent place for lunch and the history of the town of Thurber.
We met our son here for lunch because it's about halfway between Abilene and Fort Worth. What a great experience! Great food! Great people! Highly recommended!!
Drove by this place for years and finally stopped in on a Saturday. Cool little place. Super nice people and the local crowd was there to support. Have a feeling they have quite a few regulars. Food was down home style cooking. Portions sizes were great and the price was amazing. Omelets hash browns, toast, oatmeal, and a full order of biscuits and gravy, and a full side of bacon came in at a little under 30 . Oh ya, a medium orange juice too. Real nice. Left feeling very satisfied and in better spirits than when we arrived. That's what really matters now isn't it?
