A Leger tour included we visited this city to experience the sight of the rivers Inn, Danube and Ilz. An amazing view of the three merging together was great. The city is old with winding cobbled stone roads,a bit hilly in places. Although we tried...to visit a Roman museum unfortunately it was closed. Interesting churches and decorative buildings.
A beautiful river town full of history, vibrant, colourful architecture and friendly people. We visited before Christmas for 3 nights and loved the Christkindlemarkt at St Stephen’s. Staying close to the centre we found Passau’s romantic stone streets and alleyways full of unique and authentic...shops, cafes and restaurants. In between, we visited historical museums, churches and landmarks. We spent time at St Pauls and St Stephen’s many times day and night , and walked up to the Veste Oberhaus which provided a spectacular view of ever so pretty Passau. St Stephen’s also boasts the worlds largest cathedral organ. We didn’t hear it played, however it’s beauty was hard to miss. Passau is the perfect place to find yourself walking with ease whikst taking in the passion of the town whilst easily shopping, eating and relaxing. A particularly special memory was hearing bells in the night quietly ringing from afar. Along with the beautifully decorated shops and streets for Christmas.
