Came for a morning Saturday brunch on the patio. Lovely atmosphere and since we were on the patio, we brought our dog with us.We ordered an ice London fog and a mango creamsicle for drinks followed by a breakfast taco breakfast sandwich. The drinks tasted exactly how you would think they would taste and the breakfast tacos were super yummy.Lots of free street parking nearby had many vegetarian substitutions available.
So first impression: super lovely atmosphere and kind servers. Food online looked really appetizing. I came in for the early brunch service at opening time, and ordered the Salmon Benny. Going to be frank…it was not that good. The eggs were runny (too runny), tasteless and the hollandaise was also quite lacking. The salmon portion however was very generous and delicious. I also got a side of mushrooms, which were in a small bowl so a relatively decent portion, but they had absolutely no flavouring. They tasted and smelled incredibly soapy and stale. It was off-putting. The side salad was dry and bland and there were some rotten leaves blended in.Overall not worth $30. I’ve had better meals at Ikea and food courts for half that price. I wanted to like the food but i will not be coming back. At opening time when the kitchen is not in a rush, one would expect better cooking. My personal advice is add some seeds to your salad, get better eggs and ask your customers how they want them done, improve the hollandaise sauce, saute the mushrooms with butter and some seasoning and finish with a garnish. There’s a lot of room for improvement. That is all.
I wanted to share an unfortunate incident I experienced at Egg&Co recently. As a delivery driver, I value professionalism and respect just as much as anyone else. Unfortunately, my encounter with one of the employees left me feeling disheartened and disrespected. On the day of the incident, I had an order to pick up from Egg&Co. I arrived after a five-minute drive, expecting a smooth pickup and delivery. However, upon entering the restaurant, I was met with confusion as there was no designated area or clear instructions for delivery drivers.I approached an employee behind the bar to inquire about the pickup, and to my surprise, the response was far from courteous. Instead of providing assistance, I was told to stay over there in a dismissive and unfriendly manner. While I understand busy times can be stressful, it 's important to treat every individual with respect and dignity.I believe that every establishment, especially one partnered with delivery services, should consider the convenience and satisfaction of their delivery drivers. It 's disheartening to see that a simple request for assistance was met with such an unprofessional attitude. As a result of this unfortunate encounter, I had to cancel the order and waste time, effort, and gas – a frustrating situation for anyone trying to provide efficient service. What 's even more disappointing is that this incident eventually led to the deactivation of my UberEats account, impacting my livelihood.I hope that Egg&Co takes this feedback constructively and considers creating a more delivery-friendly environment. Designated pickup areas or clear communication can go a long way in fostering positive relationships with delivery drivers. After all, our goal is to ensure quick and smooth service for both customers and restaurants alike.I share this experience not to criticize the entire establishment, but to shed light on the importance of respectful behavior and the impact it can have on everyone involved. I hope my feedback reaches the right ears and encourages positive change.Thank you for taking the time to read about my experience.
Grabbed a relaxing sunny spot along the vintage rolling windows on Fraser.Immediately greeted warmly by the server and told about the mouthwatering Montreal Smoked Meat Benedict which i knew i must have, especially upon being informed by the server that it was smoked in-house.As I sit to enjoy my iced mocha, i have to note that the agro-profanity-laced rap really doesn’t match the vibe and is off-putting. i’m not offended by the content, but my tastebuds are. It’s not long before my breakfast is served and it’s looking yum. The eggs are perfectly runny and the house-smoked meat is delicious, although just a little on the dry side, which is why this dish could benefit from a slightly less stingy dose of their yummy hollandaise sauce. Also, the english muffin was under-toasted. i really want that crispy goodness to add texture to the dish. While it took a few extra minutes to get the bill and pay, i could see the one server on shift was starting to get a little busy so i was happy to sit back and enjoy my iced mocha.will be back for sure.
