First time experience at Jade this morning. The overall I would give it a 6 out of 10 for the followingFree parking dim sum was steaming hot fair pricesServer said, I quote “Here is your tea” I replied with “I don’t drink tea but thank you” server “if you want it or not we charge you $1 for it so you mine as well take it”I have been going to dim sum for years, not only in Canada but China too. That’s a first for me.You can get bags of dim sum frozen and take them home. That’s pretty cool
Good dimsun dishes. Mapo Tofu really hits the spot. Chicken Steamed dumplings are good (tho my kids commented that there was too much dough, not enough meat). Chicken wings were great, crispy, well seasoned and streaming hot.Service was great waitress spent lots of time with my family, making looks if jokes with my mother in law.The grand finale was the Thousand Cake. It looked too spongy but nope, the taste and texture were fantastic! Yum. I'll be back for this cake.
Food options were good for dim sum. The chicken feet didn't have any chilli and wasn't sauced enough.Don't expect much regarding service you there for the food.
I tried about a dozen items off the menu. Many very new, and exotic dishes for me lots of very good, ones. Some OK and only 1 or 2 i didn't love. Nonetheless very extensive menu with lots of interesting items to try, so it was a great eating adventure! service was just OK, decor and atmosphere also just OK. People come here for the food, in other words. Overall, fairly good value considering the somewhat unique cuisine (not a lot of good dim sum options in Ontario).
