Similarly, she gives a big genuine smile and a robust "Thumbs Up' when she is happy with something. It was thumbs up all the way at Buffet Amici! From the Pumpkin soup starter right thru to the 3 delicious dessert offerings. Mum and I tasted 'almost' everything - Cooked prawns in the shell, Tortellini, penne, potato bake, Cabbage rolls, beautifully soft Fried Squid, fish goujons, roast beef, chips and baked potato, curry beef, lasagne, Mussels and a lot more. All the food looked freshly made and tasted like it really was home made. Our Italian named host 'Stellio' actually hails from Mauritius and is eager to please and make everyone feel at home.In my humble opinion (and mum's), you will not find a better value Sunday buffet Lunch in Perth. The entrance is a little awkward as it is squeezed between two other retail shops and appears to be e small tiny takeaway place till you get inside. I think the regulars are keeping it Woodvale's best kept secret to ensure that they can always get in whenever.Make up a family party for the weekend or dinner from Tuesday to Friday. They also do a buffet breakfast on the weekend.Buffet Amici may be a little buried but it is really worth discovering for yourself!
Despite reading some bad reviews we were pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and hot and both Sat morning breakfast and Tuesday dinner had lovely food with options even for our fussy kids. Service was friendly and attentive (manager treated my husband like his best friend but picked up a misognynist vibe from him) UNTIL my five year old spilled some trifle on the floor (kids can be clumsy) and then even despite offering to clean up the mess the friendly demeanor dropped and we suddenly felt very unwelcome. Food was good and well priced but probably won't be back.
Honestly.. what do you expect for this price? I expect palatable food, clean restaurant, reasonable service and nothing else. You know what? I got it. Okay so it won't be in the "top 100 places in Australia for foodies to eat" any time soon, but come on! Places like this offering budget "all you can eat" fare deserve to be judged on a different scale to Fine Dining places and, on any reasonable scale, this place is at least adequate and probably better than that makes it sound. Try it if you want a night off from cooking sometime
The man that works here was absolutely horrible to us. He is rude, abrupt and has no people skills. So disappointed will never come back here again. The waiter, instead of asking 'can I clean your plate' just rudely said 'you finished?!' Before swiping it from the table.
We have eaten here a couple of times now and every time it has been the same fabulous food and service, we have tried breakfast, lunch and dinner.
